Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2010

An endless number of movies come out each year and you can bet most of them will suck. Here at top10kid.com we have sifted through the crap and picked the top 10 most anticipated movies of 2010.
10. Prince of Persia

Release Date: May 28th 2010
If you are a fan of the video game series than you have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Prince of Persia; A cocky prince (Jack Gyllenhaal) opens the sands of time after being tricked by an evil Vizier and now it is his job to set the world right again by slashing, hacking, jumping and manipulating time on his way to victory. Although it’s Disney, we think this movie will still be a good time and even if it sucks you can stare at Gemma Arterton for 2 hours, sounds like a win win to us.
9. Avatar: The Last Air Bender

Release Date; July 2nd 2010
If you are a nerd and a kid at heart like us you will love the cartoon series “Avatar: The Last Air Bender”. The basic concept behind the story is people can control the basic elements by bending them, but only the Avatar, Aang can control them all. It is Aang’s job to bring peace back to the world by defeating the evil fire lord. With the help of his friends he learns to master all 4 elements and reach his true power.
We really have high hopes for this movie but with M. Night Shyamalan involved who knows what direction this movie will take. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope he doesn’t muff this up as well.
8. Shrek Forever After – Shrek 4

Release Date: May 2010
Well it looks like Mike Myers and Eddy Murphy need new yachts, meet Shrek Forever After. In this version Shrek has become a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, the now-reluctant ogre agrees to autograph pitch forks. Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal maker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all of Rumpelstiltskin’s mischief in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love and family.
7. Robin Hood

Release Date: May 14th 2010
What another Robin Hood movie? Not surprising Hollywood hasn’t had an original idea in years, but this Robin Hood has promise. Taking from the book of Batman Begins, the movie follows the exploits of Richard Coeur De Lion who later becomes the legendary Robin Hood. As long as Russell Crowe keeps his fists to himself and doesn’t punch out the director, we think this movie will turn out pretty good.
6. A team

Release Date: June 11th 2010
This was on the list last year, Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2009, but here is what we had to say about it back then:
In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.
HELL YEAH. As long as they keep the casting under control and don’t go all Starsky and Hutch on this one it could be the movie I’ve been waiting years for. The only thing I don’t think I’ll be able to get past is someone other than Mr. T playing B.A. Baracus (especially if it’s Ice Cube who is rumored).
Still thinking…HELL YEAH!
5. Toy Story 3

Release Date: June 18th 2010
We love us some Toy Story, but who doesn’t, honestly? In Toy Story 3 Andy is all grown up and off to college and now has new toys to play with, barley legal 18 year old girls. With no need for toys Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. The Toy Story series hasn’t failed us yet and I doubt it will this time. Good fun for all ages. Can’t wait.
4. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

Release Date: March 5th 2010
Tim Burton is at it again, taking a childhood story and skull f*&king it into something awesome. Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonder takes place ten years after Alice last visited wonderland. While attending a socialite party she catches a glimpse of the famous white rabbit which she follows into a dark hole, sending her into the infamous Wonderland. From the looks of the movie, it doesn’t seem that this is going to be the last dark hole Alice wonders into. Can someone say sequel.
3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

November 19th 2010
Guilty! We freaking love Harry Potter. If I was being biased this would be number one on the list but I’m not, so number three it is. Part one of the Deathly Halllows starts off where the last movie ended, the magic world is in shambles and dark times are ahead. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the run from the Death Eaters all the while trying to save the world. The most action packed of all the books this one is sure to pull in even anti-potter viewers.
2. Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Release Date: 30 June 2010
If you are a thirteen year old girl or a flamboyant man, you can’t wait for more sparkly vampires. In Eclipse Bella and Edward have been reunited, but their forbidden relationship is threatened to be torn apart again with an evil vampire still seeking her revenge. And Bella is forced to choose between her true love for Edward or her friendship with Jacob Black as the struggles between vampires and werewolves continues. But there is still another choice for Bella to make, mortality or immortality? Not going to lie, it took a lot for us to place this one on the list and so close to the top.
Prediction: Twilight Eclipse will out sell Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in it’s first week.
1. Iron Man 2

Release Date: May 7th 2010
The last Iron Man movie left nerds around the world with a sticky wet spot on their jeans and a smile on their pimpled faces and we can’t blame them, Iron man kicked ass. And by no surprise Marvel Studios is already working on Iron Man 2. Iron Man two is rumored to take a deeper link into the mind of Tony Stark using parts of the “Demon in a Bottle” story line. But lets be honest all we want to know is will there be more suits, more action and more Stark and the answer is YES! Iron Man two is a sure fire pick for this years number one most anticipated movie of 2010.
Honorable Mentiond
Tron Legacy aka Tron 2

This would have made our list but with out a official release date its not likely to make it in 2010
A virtual-world worker looks to take down the Master Control Program.
The Expendables

If it was up to us and not the masses this movie would have been number 2 on the list. However, We think once the entire population of 15-25 year old males watches this movie it will stop there. If it had a wider appeal it would be unstoppable.
A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

I love Iron Man. Can’t wait for the next movie. and Twilight sucks!! Twilight makes adult movie watchers cough cough..
@Sam I agree 100%, Twilight isn’t something we want to see but it can’t be its following can’t be ignored. Damn you 13 year old girls!
I HATE TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Twlight is very borring…I agree with Sam.
After seeing this list my eagerness for watching these fallowing movies has been increased Prince of persia , avtar and Iron man2 .
Yeah twilight sucks balls, I’m really looking forward to Alice in Wonderland and Prince of Persia
What about The Expendebles. Nearly every action movie star’s in that. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger even WWE star Stone Cold Steve Austin.
And for the women, Sex and the City 2 comes out 2010.
what a terrible list! ok some of the films are ok, but twighlight? a videogame adaptation? another god damn shrek film? half of these films will probably bomb
You didn’t put Inception on this list. Hence, your list fails.
The A-team should cast Hannibal with someone who looks like him talks like him and says “i love it when a plan comes together” like him and smokes the cigars just like him. The rest of the guys should be original cast. With a little makeup they wouldnt look all that much different. Mr.T especially !! , you just cannot replace him.
There whole problem was only going 5 seasons!!! LOL and in the fith season they started working for the government….once that happened the a-team lost there unique identities and chemistry. The fith season was a raping of the a-team franchise. To this day cannell still believes that the “audience” just stopped watching….bull it was destroyed by breaking the #1 rule…..the a-team joins no one and no one joins the a-team. The end action scene where they allways got together and built a tank or something, was also taken out. I dont know why the hell they tried fix something that was not broken. A good dipiction of the label from the fith season dvd cover should be the same cover…… but……… wrapped in duct tape. At least then the people would know they are buying junk.
But hey i still watched them all and still love them. I HOPE FOX dont mess it up.
If that Hangover sequel is pushed forward to 2010 I’m looking forward to that.
[...] Top10Kids.com looks ahead to the Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2010. [...]
Iron Man & Harry Potter are on my list of must sees – and not at home when they come out on DVD. These big pictures deserve a big movie theater screen. I can hardly wait! I’ll just rent all the rest.
THE A-TEAM? HA! With that shite director from Smokin’ Asses oops…i mean Aces…..this will suck! THE LOSERS AND THE EXPENDABLES will be so much better!!!
Not too many original movies in that list. At least 7 of them are remakes or sequels. Maybe hollywood should try some new ideas.
i can’t wait for harrypotter next moive so be soon
GO FLAMBOYANT MEN! Oh and I really agree with this list, but I really didn’t like the Twilight Movie, it was a let down. And also to prove that I still have somewhat of balls, you forgot one movie. THE METAL GEAR SOLID MOVIE! Although, it might just be looping all the cut scenes together cus it was damn long.

A list of the top ten most anticipated movies of 2010….
As much as I love Harry Potter, I am SO not thrilled about the Deathly Hallows Movie no thanks to the horribly written book. Twilight is boring, stupid, and is only watched by dumbfuck teens–I haven’t even read the books anyway and don’t plan to, so no go for me. And Shrek 4? Don’t get me started on how horrible Shrek 3 was. BUT I am really anxious to see Alice in Wonderland, Ironman 2, Avatar, and perhaps Prince of Persia.
@Flamboyant Man: Are you f-ing serious?! A Metal Gear Solid movie? When can I get tickets? 8D
If The Expendables is releasing in 2010 I hope for hitting Big BoxOffice… just look at the cast…..
I just want to see Alice in Wonderland, Shrek and maybe Robin Hood. I heard that maybe Rampage Jackson might play B.A. But it doesn’t matter who it is they will never play B.A. better than Mr.T.
I think the going title for the Tron sequel is TR2N
Iron Man 2. Everything else is just CRAP. Iron Man 2 is sure to be popular with men, boys, geeks and nerds.
Due Date could be 2010’s The Hangover as director Todd Phillips and Hangover star Zach Galifianakis are working together again in it. Todd may have found new frat pack members out of Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms.
i’m excited to see “The Last Airbender ” , i hope Shyamalan will not ruin this movie . I’m a big fan of this cartoon and sure hope it will make waves next year.
what about where the wild things are???
Prince of Persia?! Seriously?!?!?! OMG…
